Healthcare.gov Sends Personal Data to Private Companies

Healthcare.gov, the government’s website for the Affordable Care Act, has been secretly sending users’ personal data to private advertising and marketing companies, according to the Associated Press. The data disclosed includes highly personal information, including age, income, zip code, and whether the person in question smokes, or is pregnant. it also includes a computer’s IP address and can identify the person’s name, or home address. As many as 50 companies are involved Including Google Analytics, Twitter, Facebook and a number of online advertising firms.
