President Obama attempted to turn the page in his hour long State of the Union address last night where he discussed the financial crisis of 2008, the recession and unemployment and deficits that followed and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He then went on to enforce America’s commitment to peace, the importance of cybersecurity, and the importance of leading by “example of our values.” Iowa Senator Joni Ernst echoed certain parts of Obama’s speech while also criticizing it for creating a mindset that she claimed gives political talking points, not serious solutions.
