Why Does 60 Minutes Keep Screwing Up?

60 Minutes has had a rough couple of months, first with the Benghazi debacle and the resulting apology, followed by a widely criticized segment on Social Security disability cheats and then the “puff piece” the program ran in December on the NSA. Most recently, correspondent Leslie Stahl did a segment on the alleged failures of government and Silicon Valley investments in clean tech – yet another piece that critics seized on as biased, uninformative and driven by a specific political agenda.

So what happened to 60 Minutes? Why has this once-lofty bastion of investigative journalism and the standard-bearer for TV news excellence fallen so far so fast? That’s the question our panel tackles in this segment of The Point with Ana Kasparian.
