“The shirt seems to insinuate that people would take the word “maybe” as a “yes.”
Twitter user Elle Wal asked why anyone thought this was a good idea.
“How about we not perpetuate rape culture with your $19.99 shirt,” she wrote.
Another user said the shirt is “very rape-y.”
“‘Forever 21 is selling a shirt that says ‘don’t say maybe if you want to say no.’ How about ‘don’t do something if you don’t hear a yes,'” Kristin Toussaint wrote.
The company released a statement that they took immediate action to remove the shirt from its website after negative customer feedback.”
