Styleogue NYC host Bec Susan Gill sits down with TYT’s resident science nerd Jayde Lovell to talk how to dress like the girls from DC Comics!

Why? Because it’s Halloween coming up in October – and girls need help with their outfits! Do-it-yourself (DIY) is cheaper (and funner!) than buying something prepackaged from the store – so go ahead and get creative!

We brought Jayde (host of TYT Network’s new science show, ScIQ) on the show as she is especially good with DIY outfits. Especially those on a budget – in fact, she just finished producing a parody of Bad Blood parody and basically hand-made all the costumes with her bare hands. As the MacGyver of costumes – we put to the test! Bec gives her two female superheroes – and get Jayde to apply her problem-solving skills.

So, what do you need for Superwoman?
– Cobalt blue shirt – then create your sign and stick it on!
– Or you may have a Superman shirt that you can wear instead – easy!
– Add a yellow, red or blue belt
– Have something red on the bottom – skirt, short shorts, whatever’s in your closet!
– For a cape, you can use a piece of – a towel, or a blanket (if you’re on a super budget!)

And what about Wonder Woman, how can we make that by ourself?
– For this one, you will need a tight red top – boob tube, or a singlet or long sleeve shirt
– Essential is gold arm bands and crown – this is what will really make this look come alive
– Wonder Woman wears red boots, but honestly, who has red boots? No-one. Just wear red shoes and red socks, leg warmers – whatever you can find!

More about the characters featured in this video:

Superwoman is the name of several fictional characters from DC Comics. Most of them are, like Supergirl, women with powers similar to those of Superman.

Wonder Woman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character is a warrior princess of the Amazons (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and is known in her homeland as Princess Diana of Themyscira. When outside her homeland, she is sometimes known by the secret identity Diana Prince. She is gifted with a wide range of superhuman powers and superior combat and battle skills. She possesses an arsenal of weapons, including the Lasso of Truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, a tiara which serves as a projectile, and, in some stories, an invisible airplane, Mental Radio, and Purple Ray that could heal otherwise lethal injuries.
