So many of us love Game of Thrones, but none of us love those who spoil it for us. But when you have hundreds of guys bonding in close-knit environments at NFL Training Camp, someone is bound to get pissed off when their teammate can’t avoid talking about John Snow, The White Walkers, Cersei and Tyrion Lannister. The WSJ published a great article talking about the Game of Thrones phenomenon and how it is infiltrating this year’s NFL camps.
However, that is not the only GOT thing showing up at NFL Camps this year. Behold! Georg R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones creator, just showed up at the New York Jets camp! The Jets? Makes a lot of sense for a guy who doesn’t like happy endings.

I hope you are/were as forgiving to book readers who (accidentely) spoiled events for you … afterall you don’t want to wait 24 hours… They had to wait 15 years to speak about Ned Starks death – 4 years to talk about Jon Snow’s… It’s a choice to watch the show, it’s a choice to read the books… People who decided they want to read the books (at least first, if they want to watch the show at all) don’t have the same confidence in show-watchers to not spoil those books for them now that the show surpassed them (books they have waited 19 years to come out), then show-watchers had in them to not spoil the show – and they didn’t (for he most part)! so sad… You might think “just watch the show” – well, wouldn’t you have called them arrogant / even dicks, if they’d said “just read the books”..?
I know someone who spolied the 2011 Giants-Jets game for GRRM – He fears for his life… till this day :-)
