Syrian President Bashar Assad could be prosecuted for war crimes after photographs documenting the torture and death of civilians under his regime included as many as 10 foreign victims who were identified by the FBI. This was confirmed by US State Department official Stephen Rapp who said that several Europeans were identified during an FBI analysis of 27,000 photos that showed the bodies of about 11,000 victims.
