The Senate Intelligence Committee recently released the gruesome details about the interrogation tactics that were used by the CIA under the Bush Administration. Aside from waterboarding, detainees were forced to undergo rectal rehydration and other methods of torture. Should the Bush Administration face prosecution for this? I share my thoughts in this #nofilter rant.

  1. It may be that we won’t see criminal prosecutions of those that tortured in our names, along with those that ordered the torture, until 2017, but that this will happen is an inevitability ~ the American people have been wronged by our political representatives in a way never before seen, and *those responsible* will answer for their depraved crimes: George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, George Tenet, John Brennan, Mike Hayden, Condi Rice, James Mitchell, Bruce Jessen, Alberto Gonzales, John Yoo, John Ashcroft and John Rizzo.

  2. Why is President Obama balking at pursuing the blatant obvious criminals from the previous administration? How much more vile can these neo-cons become before there is accountability? To hear President Obama attempt to diminish the magnitude of the criminal acts of torture (and the neo-con attempts to cover up those acts and lie about it) by saying ‘We tortured some folks’ just does not add up. What is holding him back now? He does not need to think about a next term. If he does not pursue these criminals he will diminish so many of his accomplishments and he will not be doing his job. The tone of the country starts at the top and the lack of consequences for vile criminal acts by those in position of authority sets a negative tone. We are beginning to see the tip of the iceberg now that citizens can capture videos of others in positions of authority flaunting and abusing their positions…the evidence is right in front of us. Dear Mr. President please do not allow these blatant criminal acts go quietly down the path of social amnesia! That is the path of social apathy.
