Death Valley’s Racetrack Playa has long been the home of a natural phenomenon– rocks that appear to move on their own? The famous sliding rocks leave long trails in their wake across the dried, cracked land, with no real evidence of another entity moving them. Until now. Richard Norris from Scripps Institution of Oceanography conducted a GPS experiment in the desert and now has an explanation.
