Bigoted Family Disowns Gay Son After Horrible Failed “Intervention”

“A 20-year-old college student in Kennesaw, Georgia recorded a violent, anti-gay ‘intervention’ that his family conducted, video of which has gone viral, netting more than 2 million views on YouTube and pulling in donations and messages of support from all over the world.

“Daniel Ashley Pierce told Huffington Post Thursday that he came out to his family in October of 2013, but that on Wednesday, his father, stepmother, mother and grandparents assembled in his father’s house to disown him and cut off all support if he refused to submit to religious counseling, so-called ‘pray away the gay’ therapy.”

The Young Turks’ John Iadarola (http://twitter.com/jiadarola) and Ana Kasparian (http://twitter.com/anakasparian) are joined by Showdown of the Unbeatables host Brian Unger (http://twitter.com/iambrianunger) and The Pretty Good Podcast host Gina Grad (http://twitter.com/ginagrad) to break down the story.

  3. Well, you can’t force people to love somebody who isn’t like their version of “normal” without doing a major biological rewrite of the human race, and even then this is something only God can change. And as long as you keep rejecting that there is a God, the more you’re just going to keep banging your head at the wall in frustration.
