Stefan Molyneux is a Libertarian anarchist who took offense to me pointing out that Adam Carolla has no idea why conservatives in the United States have a bad reputation among some working class and middle class Americans.

It was curious to see Molyneux defend Conservative ideology. So, in this video, I explain to him why that is precisely the type of thinking that has been negative for a country that ranks 14th in the world when it comes to higher ed (only 42% of 25-34 year old have college experience) and also spends $11 billion a year on unwanted pregnancies.

  1. I remember listening to Adam Corolla on Loveline many years ago. One of the statements he would commonly make is that if you are going to community college, you would be better off dropping out than trying to go on to a university, meaning if you aren’t good enough for Uni, you shouldn’t try. I went to community college because I didn’t have a scholarship and it was significantly cheaper. After a couple years, I basically took his advice but always regretted not finishing school. So, several years later, I went back; transferred from a community college, graduated Summa cum Laude from a university, and now I am attending law school with a full ride scholarship. Adam Corolla could not have been more wrong. It is never too late to start or go back, and where you start doesn’t dictate where you finish. That said, we need to open access to everyone, because success or opportunity should not be predetermined by socioeconomic status.

  2. Stephens IQ remark is based on bad “research”.
When Alfred Binet created the test it was designed for identifying special needs children in order that they receive special attention early on. Binet never intended or imagined that the test would be seen as a valid way to measure innate intelligence and make sweeping assumptions about the innate intelligence of large groups of people.
That is paraphrased from “50 Popular Beliefs That People Think are True” by Guy P Harrison. On page 57 he lists his sources one of which is “IQ: A Smart History of a Failed Idea” by Stephen Murdoch.

  3. Does no conservative/libertarian see even the slightest problem with saying something like “Stop shitting out kids you can’t afford”? I mean really. Putting aside all else you can’t say things like that with any intention of helping the situation. When you say it like that your intention is to be incendiary and demeaning. Nothing more. You can’t actually expect anyone to believe you have humanity’s interests at heart when you tell a whole segment of the population to “stop shitting out kids.” You’re just being an ass.

I wonder, does this mean rich people are “shitting out kids” they CAN afford?

Anyway I can’t not mention how great Ana’s hair looks in this video. Sorry.
