“Misao Okawa, a Japanese woman believed to be the world’s oldest person, turned 116 on Wednesday and celebrated by tucking into a white cake decorated with strawberries and candles.

She credits a healthy appetite and getting plenty of rest for her longevity.

  1. Genetics is the most important factor in longevity. Also, ALKALINE water WILL aid your health. Especially if your body is highly acidic. In my own family, of my father and his 8 siblings, so far three have lived into their 90s, two into their 80s, three into their 70s(one with Down’s Syndrome), and my dad is currently 84 and quite healthy. He had an aunt live to 99.7. His grand and great-grandfathers lived to 93(2 of them), and 96. I have ancestors who were living into their 80s and 90s back in the 1600-1800s. So…yeah…GENETICS!!
