Free Speech on the Web Now Owned by Corporations!

A federal appeals court gutted key net neutrality provisions this week- the long and short of it being that ISPs can now block and throttle certain content and applications as they wish. Is there an upside to consumers? No. Does a certain political ideology benefit? No. If the decision stands, ISPs will likely be gouging users for more money with paid tiers (like the plan AT&T announced last week). At best, corporations can favor certain content or providers. At worst, they can limit or cut off content unfavorable to their own business models from corporations…or even its own users.

What can we do? Is there a way to stop the steamroller on its way to crushing out free information and the accessibility we enjoy now in the free internet? Kim Horcher and Tim Frisch discuss.
