“A new anti-crystal meth campaign featuring the warped mugshots of alleged repeat users is scary, but is it effective at discouraging drug abuse? Not really, say researchers.

The “Horrors of Methamphetamines,” launched by Rehabs.com, claims to show the physical self-destruction that the drug is capable of.”*

  1. As an ex-heroin addict I can tell you from experience that the emotional pain of someone who uses drugs like heroin, or meth outweighs some ad campaign. An addict is someone who is willing to endure any consequences tomorrow to feel good today; and quite simply someone who is using meth isn’t concerned with their image in a decade. Also, what about the meth users who don’t look like that after using the drug for a period of time? I know someone who used meth for 10 years and still looks like a normal person.
