Penang (which you definitely mispronounced) is no where near to Shanghai and not even close to the same regions, that is just a silly comparison by someone who doesn’t travel much in Asia. Not only are the foods cooked in very different styles, but they are different countries in different temperate regions with different ingredients and basic foods items. There is no way you could even compare them, and it is embarrassing that you even tried to make the comparison. My favorite place is Seoul, Korea, again which is no where near either Shanghai or Penang, lol. If you like Korea style ribs or meat, then you have got to go to Korea. I was stationed there for 12 years and it is amazing, the food is great. Even the street side foods are awesome. They cook sweet potatoes and corn in the market place, the smells just make you drool, and then they have cinnamon flavored pancakes, that are just WOW!!!! I miss the food so much.
