THE NOVEMBER MAN and OBLIVION co-writer Karl Gajdusek talks about working with Tom Cruise, bringing THE NOVEMBER MAN to the screen, and pitching ideas to studios. We talk about the difference between writing for major directors, from writers having more influence on a production, LAST RESORT, Sean Ryan, screenplay writing and breaking into show business in this Insiders interview, hosted by Sebastian Twardosz.
GUEST BIO:
Karl Gajdusek is a San Francisco native, now living in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons. Karl is the co-writer of the Tom Cruise, Joseph Kosinski film Oblivion as well as co-creator and Executive Producer of Last Resort with Shawn Ryan on ABC. His films Trespass was released in 2011, and The November Man in 2014. He also worked on the remake of The Mechanic, the Liam Neeson film Unknown, and he has adapted the Graphic Novel The Last Days of American Crime for Radical Pictures. Karl was a Story Editor on the Showtime show Dead Like Me. His latest endeavors include a science-fiction series, The Spark at HBO, an adaptation of the Gary Shtyengart Novel Super Sad True Love Story, and a series about a Mt. Everest expedition for FOX. Karl is also Executive Producer on a new series being developed at SyFy, Leviathan. Karl’s plays have been produced in New York and across the country. They include Greedy, FUBAR, Fair Game, Silverlake, Malibu, and Waco, Texas, Mon Amour. Karl has a B.A. from Yale University and an M.F.A. in playwriting from the University of California at San Diego.
