Pep Guardiola and his squad are leading the Bundesliga standings which comes as no surprise. FC Bayern is a powerhouse team with arguably the best goal keeper in the world, Manuel Neuer, who rarely concedes goals. Mario Gotze has also been off to a very strong start to the season scoring 3 goals in the last 2 games. Most recently, Bayern is coming 2-0 win over FC Koln. One of the best signings for FC Bayern has been Xabi Alonso, a center defensive midfielder who has been part of the ever growing FC Bayern machine that seems to get stronger with every game.
On setting a record for most touches in a single game, Alsonso had this to say:
“I wasn’t counting, but it’s nice to know,” the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner said when asked about his magnetic feat in Saturday’s 2-0 win away to 1. FC Köln. “They set out their stall to defend and we had to be very patient. We opened the scoring, but it was hard work from start to finish. It was a tough game.”
