Cenk on #TheaterShooting: ‘We’re being massacred out here’ by gun laws written by gun manufacturers
Cenk talks to Michael Shure about the politics behind America’s lax gun laws. “You cannot continue to allow the National Rifle Association to write the gun laws in America,” Shure says. “The Democrats need to have some balls on this issue.” Cenk says, “This isn’t about gun owners. This is about gun manufacturers. A gun is designed to kill things, and people now make profit off of that — and they go bribe politicians.”

How to buy an AR-15 without a background check
Cenk and Vanguard correspondent Christof Putzel talk about how easy it is to buy guns in America. Among many guns Putzel bought at a Texas gun show without providing identification or a background check was an AR-15, the kind of assault weapon that was allegedly used in the Aurora, Colo., shootings. Though Colorado has closed some of its gun sales loopholes, none of the states surrounding it require a background check in order to purchase a gun.

Today is the day’ to demand a change to our gun laws
Cenk talks to Colin Goddard, who survived being shot four times at Virginia Tech University in 2007 and now works with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. “When it comes to gun violence, Democrats are cowards,” Goddard says. “After the mourning, after the thoughts and prayers are sent, then people hold their elected officials accountable. Say, I don’t want people to buy 100-round magazines and military weapons. We have to stand up and demand this from our elected officials. If not now, when?” Go to bradycampaign.org for more.
