– Wil Wheaton gave a similar message about his new show, The Wil Wheaton Project on Syfy. And he has a good point. It’s unrealistic to tell an audience to never watch your show illegally– approve of it or not, many shows are consumed this way today. But the networks aren’t using any method that can measure a show’s real impact. The traditional method of Nielsen ratings doesn’t take of many popular watching methods, so is it on the audience to make sure their love for their show gets counted? Would that have saved NBC’s Community? Does it not matter if new media companies like Hulu and Netflix are willing to give under-counted shows new life? Kim Horcher, Tim Frisch, and Xander Jeanneret (King of the Nerds season 2, TheStream.TV’s “Under the Table”) discuss!
