Hey, I know lets just stop eating Chemicals. Oh… don’t forget you will die as everything we eat [IE all Bio Material] is made up of chemicals.
JR, People don’t know the physics behind flying… should they cease flying on a plane?
Things are common in food. They are all chemicals and they all have scientific names that would scare the hell out of you. All that in a Banana.
Do not add to the anti-intellectualism you fight on every other story. Think Climate deniers. That is what you are doing in a “I don’t get it, why is that in my food” story.
I think it’s a bit silly to exclude from your diet or overall consumption things with scientific names you can’t pronounce. I mean that means illiterate people or dyslexic people would starve, and don’t even get me started on di-hydrogen monoxide! It’s great to understand what the things in your food do, and obviously everyone should choose what to eat based on what’s in it, and on what they know about what’s in it, but that doesn’t equate to “If you can’t pronounce it don’t eat it”.
