Maybe she was and is still being abused by her parents! She’s 18!!! Spouses get $$$ for the lifestyle they have become accustomed to, why not abused children that have to leave their home to avoid abuse.
This kid had some reason to do this and the other adult had some reason for helping her. You obviously have not been a victim of psychological abuse by a parent so your ignorance is understood but your hubris is not ..
You’re right, she was 18!!! She should have moved out or at least told the authorities if she really felt her parents were doing her harm. Kids a lot younger than her have been emancipated from their parents. She could have done exactly the same thing. This was about money and a spoiled brat who didn’t get her way.
