While I don’t disagree with the FACT that people shouldn’t drive while inebriated, no matter the method of that inebriation, I don’t know that the stats you are quoting paint a very accurate picture. Marijuana stays in your system (as far as the tests used) for up to six months. Simply because the people involved in these wrecks had marijuana in their system means nothing to their level of incapacity. Maybe they smoked right before they drove, in which case that would be devastating, but it is also quite possible that it had been hours, days, weeks, or months even since the last time they had smoked. I think a truly responsible statistic would take these thoughts/facts into consideration. Please don’t help feed into the reefer madness of inaccuracy. A simple disclaimer pointing out the above facts would be enough to shine light on the fact that with the tests used, it is highly likely that there was no true knowledge of inebriation.
you’re absolutely right the first amendment because if you’re not hurting someone else you are free to live your life as you see fit someone else sees fit.
