We’ve all been there, drifting through our own thoughts during class, only to snap out of it and realize the professor has moved on to something entirely new. But you may be able to trick your mind into paying better attention.P
The folks at HackCollege point out several tricks for staying alert and improving your concentration in the classroom, including practicing active listening and participating in the class. What we found most interesting, though, were their thoughts on seating:P
Sit in the front section of the room. It’s easier to get away with not paying attention in the back.P
Sit in the same seat every day. Sitting in the same seat allows your mind to use contextual cues it learns while you’re taking the class to apply when exam time rolls around.12P
Sit in a different seat in every classroom. This relates to the previous tip. Having a dedicated seat that is different in each class helps bolster that contextual learning.P
Hit up the post at HackCollege to learn more about tricking your brain into better learning habits.P
