Amazon is pretty sure of what its users are going to order, so sure that they’ve patented anticipatory package shipping- when the company is pretty certain a customer will buy something, they will ship the item to a fulfillment center close to that person until they hit the “purchase” button. Amazon also has a very fast method of packing orders at fulfillment centers utilizing a complex grid of roomba-like “Kiva” moving robots.
