In 2013 the Texas legislature, despite the heroic efforts of state senator Wendy Davis and others, passed a series of draconian restrictions on women’s access to abortion and other reproductive services.

As Ana points out in this week’s #NoFilter segment, these new laws come down hardest on poor women without the resources to travel great distances for healthcare, and reflect hypocrisy on the part of right wing abortion opponents who claim the “Pro-Life” mantle while simultaneously cutting government benefits to poor families.
