Since Newtown shooting last year, the percentage of Americans that support background checks has dropped, but its still at 77%. Dems are at 95%, and Republicans are at 66%, but those proposals still lose. Mother Jones also reported that since the Newtown shooting, 194 kids have died due to gun violence. The average age of the victims is 6 years old. Rep Yoho planned a family gun safety day on the anniversary of the Newtown shooting. Writers against mass surveillance have collectively come out speaking on it to raise awareness.
The creator of the show The Wire spoke out at a conference for Dangerous Ideas about the ridiculous ways America destroys itself by fighting against its citizens.
