A Halloween costume is being sold that has many people in an uproar. The costume is called “Anna Rexia” and features a black dress with a skeleton printed on it and a tape measure as a belt. Critics say this is offensive and hurtful to those who suffer from the eating disorder. Cenk Uygur, Brett Erlich (Pop Trigger), and Hannah Cranston (Think Tank) hosts of The Young Turks discuss.

Should this costume be pulled from the website? Is it ever okay to wear costumes that might offend someone? Let us know in the comments below.

“As far as tasteless Halloween costumes go, it doesn’t get much worse than the sexy skeleton get-up “Anna Rexia,” the copy for which reads, “You can never be too rich or too thin,” whatever that means. For only $39.99, plus shipping, you get the dress, headband, choker neckband, removable “Anna Rexia” badge, ribbon tie belt, and no sense of shame.

One woman (hopefully of many, although the costume is “currently out of stock”) who won’t be buying one is Jessi Davin, a 26-year-old anorexia survivor who finds “NOTHING cute about this.”
