A young boy was dribbling a basketball in a driveway while some girls rode by on bicycles. The boy called to the girls, but the ladies weren’t interested and cursed at him. The boy threw his basketball, and it hit one of the girl’s bikes, causing her to wipe out. She then threatened to beat up the boy. I am the mother of the girl who was knocked off her bike. Let me say first and foremost that my daughter was DEVASTATED this evening when she found out this video had gone viral. She did not know a video of the incident even existed and is beyond upset. I am not going to come forward and go public, as her only solace is that this video does not identify her. She is upset that a kid she did not even know did this to her. She was 12 when this incident happened and for it to be plastered all over the internet just shows what true creeps these kids are. I want to set a few facts straight because what you are reporting has several false comments that portray her in a bad light.
1. The boys planned this, this happened the second time the girls rode by on their way home, the boys attempted to do it the first time they went by and missed.
2. My daughter was not, and does not, wear provacative clothing in any shape or form.
3. My daughter was not the one who said “Fuck you” (the first girl did). My daughter said and did nothing to provoke the attack.
4. My daughter thankfully had no damage to her face, but did have deep scrapes to her arm and hip. It makes me SICK to think that people in any way shape or form find this okay, even in retaliation. My daughter is lucky she didn’t have severe facial injuries or a permanent brain or spinal injury!
I am saddened that this is plastered all over the internet. She found it on a “fail” video series. She did not fail, she was the victim of bullying and assault. That is what should be seen in this video, not placing the blame on her when she did absolutely nothing but ride her bike home!
