“Bowing their heads in prayer, a congregation of pastors, civil rights activists and teachers gathered Tuesday to appeal for leniency in the sentencing of 11 former Atlanta educators convicted of cheating to inflate student test scores.
“We are dismayed and disappointed at the actions of Judge Baxter to handcuff our educators and to haul them off to jail as if they’re hardened criminals,” said the Rev. Frank Brown, president of the Concerned Black Clergy.” *
