“Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) host of The Young Turks discusses a college group that is demanding sensitivity training to teach gay students respect.
At George Washington University a college group, Young America’s Foundation, is asking in a threatening manner that homosexual students be required to attend sensitivity training after they refused to attend LGBT sensitivity training. This move is coming at a time when the group has scheduled to host a visit from Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum. The YAF bases its main argument around their idea that gay students do not respect what they call ‘traditional marriage’.
The college president became involved releasing a statement that boiled down to saying that regardless of the groups views LGBT people do exist and that as such sensitivity training is mandatory. Allied in Pride, the campus’s pro-LGBT group has asked that YAF be labeled as a hate group due to its comments against the LGBT community.”
