RACING EXTINCTION, the new documentary on endangered and vanishing species and the mass extinction event facing Earth are discussed with director Louie Psihoyos. The acclaimed director of THE COVE, shares his film trailer from the 2015 Sundance Festival premiere of RACING EXTINCTION, and talks with BYOD host Ondi Timoner about the urgent state of affairs for the environment and how he made the movie in this uncensored interview.

Academy Award-winner Louie Psihoyos (The Cove) assembles a unique team to show the world never-before-seen images that expose issues surrounding endangered species and mass extinction. Whether infiltrating notorious black markets or exploring humans’ effect on the environment, Racing Extinction will change the way you see the world.
Louie Psihoyos, Executive Director of the Oceanic Preservation Society (OPS), is recognized as one of the top photographers in the world. He was hired directly out of college to shoot for National Geographic and created images for the yellow-bordered magazine for 18 years. His ability to bring humanity and wit to complicated science stories carries over to his filmmaking. An ardent diver and dive photographer, he feels compelled to show the world the decline of our planet’s crucial resource, the oceans.
