“Catholic League head Bill Donohue is having quite a day. First, he released two statements arguing 1)Muslims are right to be angry at the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists, who were partly at fault for their own deaths, which and 2) that free speech doesn’t extend to “obscene portrayal of religious figures.” Then he was on the receiving end of a pretty pissed-off Hugh Hewitt, who told Donohue that his victim-blaming is an embarrassment to Catholics everywhere.
And tonight, Fox News anchor and lawyer Megyn Kelly took strong issue with Donohue’s views on free speech and the First Amendment. “*

It’s nice to know that Kelly is not really an idiot…….she just plays one on TV.
I have Ben Mankiewicz’s reservations. And it does seem to be open season on all things Islam.
Why do we not use N word instead of “nigger”? I think there are some moral distinctions. But today it’s open season on Islam like it once was against native Americans (pagan savages). We can’t say certain things about Jews either. I am not a Catholic, but I get where this guy is coming from.
Meant we do use N word.
Look at what happened to Paula Deen.
Did somebody kill Paula Dean, must have missed it.
If freedom of speech is all that matters, and there are no distinctions.
Then why are there anti-Semitic laws? More and more every year actually. Legislated and canonized into western laws. Apparently some speech is never allowed.
