  4. Did someone die and make Ana queen? Politics is an excellent component of Old School, a classic component. Who cares what she thinks about it?

    1. Ana is a big fan of Old School and wants it to be just fun like it’s always been and I agree with her. We get all of the other shows talking politics and I get tired of it and want to hear who’s ever on Old School just shoot the shit.

    Without fucking trig you wouldn’t have had engineering period let alone electricity and by extension modern telecommunications.

    2. Wes seemed to have a bit of a mental breakdown at some point. He accused cenk of being some sort of turkish agent, and said cenk threatened wes’s wife or some crap. It all seemed part of a hyper religious psychotic rant and it was sort of sad to watch unfold. Wes seems to be doing better now, at least in his social media posts. I hope that one day there might be some sort of reconciliation.

      1. Not american, I’m a canadian colombian, I hate the U.S empire, they enslaved and destroyed the land of my forefathers and continue to kill and exploit my people, canadian and colombian. Oddly enough it was TYT which further inflamed my anti-americanism.

        1. So why would you support an election interference by an expansionist Russia in favor of a US administration that further devalues human rights? Is that a net positive for the world?

          1. 1. The current russian government is not expansionist, it is actually quite insular and uninterested in supporting the former satellites, which both the kremlin and a good amount of russians (the moderates and soft wing of the new conservatives) as a catastrophic drain on russia. Putin and his olicharcic associates/masters are concerned with maintaining their power and making money, wars and confrontation is bad for business. It blocks their financial prospects with the west and becomes a huge threat at home, instability and rank aggression against the state becomes the norm and soon Putin takes a “vacation” and doesn’t come back. Until the americans helped nazis overthrow ukraine, the plan for putin was to foster closer relations with the E.U and eventually become a member, integrate with western europe, not as master but as an equal to germany or france.
            2. a)The fool who occupies the white house has two benefits: he destroys the relationships between U.S and the elites of allies, alienating and pushing more western states against the U.S weakening their hegemony on the world, creating even more animus against NATO. As the american grow weaker, the liberty of latino america becomes more possible. b) The opponent Clinton was utterly depraved in her devotion to the american empire, the worst qualities of Obama(imperialist wars, financial redistribution to the elite, supporting fascist coups in the global south and punishing debtors) are even greater in her. But the worst aspect of her was her shameless hatred of russia and plans to escalate the war in ukraine, syria and perhaps open even more fronts of aggression in border states. There was great risk of the americans creating war with russia and making the rest of the world collateral for their ego.
            Trump is an abomination on all else but at least with him instead of her, the game doesn’t end all at once.

            1. Besides China is the global superpower which will overtake and supplant the U.S empire, and russia is subordinate to them ever since the collapse of the union. In diplomatic terms and in terms of power china is significantly superior to russia, rival to american economy, military and stability. Beijing would not allow russia to become another rival that they must contend with. The days when russia has dominion on a global scale are long gone.

    Just listened to this episode and cant’ believe the amount of disinformation you just spouted. Trig is EXTREMELY useful if you are an Architect. I mean, how else you gonna figure out what angle will perfectly define an arc of 30′ radius with a chord length of 15′? Hello, McFly?

    Also, “Sheetrock” is a trade name, like “Kleenex.” The generic term is “drywall” or “gypsum board,” but these may not be synonymous. All gypsum board is drywall, but not all drywall is gypsum board.

    Sorry for your loss…your “oma” would have definitely had a laugh if she had heard you speak so confident,yet mistaken… (confident enough to convince Cenk :-D #toostrong)
    As a german native speaker I can assure you that there is no such thing as a”goman” or “gopas” (42:42)
    in the german language ;-)
    There is “oma” for grandma, actually more like a “nana” in america, plural is “omas”.
    Grandfathers are called “opa” ,plural is “opas”

    Love TYT for over a decade, the rare bits about Germany or the german language
    (which is also spoken in Austria, Switzerland and some other linguistic enclaves)
    are extra hilarious to me.

    Ohmygod, these guys are so wrong about typing. I’m so glad I learned how to type.

    On the Italian thing: I think it’s OK to dislike a stereotype. Just because it’s supposed to be “cool” doesn’t mean it’s not a stereotype that is hurtful. It’s like the stereotype of black guys being good at sports or something. The Columbus thing is dumb though.

    I was going to be impressed that Cenk remember chopped liver but then I realized he wrote it down.

  19. I’m 16 minutes in and i am finding myself wanting to teach two grown men, 20 years my senior math and science.

    1. It’s ok..a lot of people suck at math. Being older than you doesn’t make that notion more remarkable,smh. Give me a break…

  23. We used volume formulas for pyramid and cone in when I was in 5th grade. Both involve the fraction 1/3.
    Why 1/3? None of my teachers knew, even algebra teachers. I finally got my answer when I took calculus!
    Calculus gives beautiful answers! BTW, I’m a HS math teacher now because of the 1/3 mystery. Give math a chance!
