  1. If Alison Hartson runs again, she needs to learn from the mistakes of this campaign. Beginning with… hire professional field operatives who know what the fuck they are doing. Enthusiasm alone cannot take the place of experience and knowledge. Oh, and fire your campaign advisor.

This campaign was a waste of time and money. Too many Unforced Errors. Too many simple, obvious things that should have been done, which were not done, or not done on time, because campaign staff did not know what they were doing.

It was wrong for Cenk to withhold facts from his audience over the past few months. Example: real poll numbers. They were available, but he never shared them. Instead it was all “She’s raised more small dollar donations than Feinstein and the other guy combined.” As if that meant she was winning, or even had a real chance.

Meanwhile, she was polling at 1% or less. But he NEVER mentioned that. On the day of the election, he was still telling people to give money to Hartson, and still talking about the possibility of her making it to the run-off.

Insanity, delusion, or criminal negligence? I say delusion, wrought of child-like wishfulness. But this has been a big lesson for me, about Cenk’s limitations.
