  2. LOVE RH! Happy for this interview with Mary M… when initially reading her bio, my gut red flags went up. Upon listening to her, I agree that she has built an amazing successful life by US standards…vast education and experience to bring to the job, as well as well stated progressive aspirations that i believe she truly holds.

    However, what my gut wonders is, will she be an actual BOLD, OUTSPOKEN FIGHTER for progressive issues? Her career is impressive, but my instinct and observations tell me that these high admin positions in extremely entrenched status quo institutions are not usually achieved by those challenging their superiors’ POVs and policy positions? Perhaps typically, her statement of experience in dealing with all sorts of politicos is a plus, but I wonder about that. The military is based in chain of command and following orders. The Obama Admin that expanded the never-ending war? That is, frankly, NOT the energetic approach that I feel is needed at this time, especially here in AZ, an extraordinarily militarized state….. another military-based Representative?

    Quite the contrary, I feel we need real fighters from outside the power institutions that be, ready to call out the BS rather than soft-soap negotiate with them. I would have to hear her speak a LOT more about these dynamics in order to feel confident in her.

    I’m not a fan of the MIC, nor most of the WH leadership in my lifetime, so “success” in these arenas are more of a question mark for me than a plus at this point.
