Cenk interviews Dotty Nygard who is running for Congress in California’s 10th district. Also on the show is Bob Solomon, running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 18th district.
Dotty is a humble nurse. How many lives has she brightened with her courageous heart ? She is a quiet superstar, a heroine bucking the flow of the raging river of bs spewed by those who don’t play fair, are for sale to the highest bidder and care for nobody but themselves.
We don’t hear enough about the medical uses of marijuana especially in regard to alleviating chronic pain: A friend of many years owns a an AC company. He is a brilliant man. He has written a book about air conditioning. He is the epitome of the middle class work-ethic that built the country. He is a quiet citizen. Several years ago, he fell off of a roof and landed on his back. He lives with debilitating intense chronic pain. He has had several surgeries. He has maxed-out on his pain killers. He traveled to another state and was able to buy marijuana. He reports that afterwards he had the best sleep in years, and his pain was relieved. He managed to bring several seedlings back to Texas. He hoped to quietly get continued relief from his own plants. A neighbor smelled the smoke and called the authorities. A heavily armed police unit showed up and proceeded to search his apartment, confiscate the plants, and write a citation. He was terrified. He was summoned to court and luckily a humane judge dismissed the charges. If legalizing marijuana results in one person living without constant pain, isn’t it worth it ? Shouldn’t we be a country about relieving pain, rather than causing it ?
