  1. Ben’s words about love and treating all children like they are our children brought a tear to my eyes. We need more people in this world who think like that.

  2. Love this new segment and have already learned new facts & information. Great idea TYT! Katie is such a refreshing spirit & so energized and glad to see talented Ben Jealous moving forward & upward. FYI gerrymandering – this is so important to keep on top of especially since Trump is appointing Thomas Brunell a Texas gerrymandering expert to head the 2020 Census. Brunell has also been accused of racial gerrymandering.

  3. Who’s one of those people who signed that petition in Michigan? THIS GUY! Watching TYT has vastly educated me on the subject, and I ran into a lady wearing a cardboard cutout of a gerrymandered district during the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade. I sought her out so I can sign it. She said she was very happy to see so many young people educated and wanting to speak out about the subject! Happy to sign it, let’s change our country for the better!

  4. It was kinda funny to see Cenk so blown away about the success of the gerrymandering initiative. But in all seriousness, I think I might know why the energy for that effort has been so explosive. Michigan hasn’t had Democratic control of both chambers of the state legislature since 1984! Since then, Republicans have ensured gerrymandered districts in their favor for the state house and state senate, as well as a Republican majority delegation to the US House from Michigan. This happens even though the state is far from being majority conservative/Republican, and has been a blue state in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections. Plus both US Senators have been Democrats since 2001. So you can begin to see how so many liberals/progressives in Michigan are frustrated that no matter how they vote, Republicans have a lock on the redistricting process, and hence the state congress and the US House. People are simply that fed up, and it’s palpable.
