I was two years out of U.Penn with student loan debt, living with mom and working part time at a mall bookstore, the only job I could get at the time. I came home one day and mom said, ‘The Mayor of Media (we lived in Media, PA) was just at the door. Didn’t call or anything, he just came. Said he wanted to get to know me and help with what I needed. Can you imagine that kind of gall? What’s he doing asking ME that? Just more picking on black people.’
I couldn’t believe she said that about a guy trying to do his job. The Mayor of Media, a white man who transcended his whiteness and became a MAN before my mother’s very eyes, a man knocking st her door asking to HELP her ( and did she and all of us EVER need help then, man) and she told him to leave and closed the door on him.
But that guy impressed me SOOOO much. I’ll never forget the huge effort he made that day, I was SOOOO sorry I wasn’t there to talk to him, DAMN it could’ve changed my whole life. It ended up changing it anyway, coming to our door opened that door and my eyes.

Thank you Cenk. I’m worried about your health and the sanity of your crew with all this extra work, but I sooooo appreciate it. It means to me that you all take this Trump shit super seriously and will sacrifice so much more of your time and meals to see this NOT normalized and STOPPED. So I’m going to sacrifice more of my time too and support TYT in any way I can. This is a crisis on so many levels, We The People have a Constitution and Civil Rights to save.
Japan mainstream works hard to normalize / sanitize Trump & Co so I need TYT to keep me informed and energized.
