I can see both sides of the argument about the NYT article on the ordinariness of the neo Nazi, but I tend to agree with Cenk view here. It just showed how a seemingly a seemingly ordinary well mannered person can hold such extreme and dangerous views.
It brings our attention to how these views can proliferate in full view while we are asleep at the wheel. I don’t know what the authors intention was but it certainly brought this reality to our attention
Brett, if you look at Hitler’s love of music, you will find nationalist influences. If you look at Hitler’s vegetarianism, you will see a man so concerned about his flatulence that he could not leave his country on state missions. If you look at Hitler’s love for musicals, you will find movies that he viewed in his private screening room that were labeled degenerate for German citizens. If you look at Hitler’s love of dogs, you will see submissive behavior usually exhibited by dogs who have been beaten.
If you look at Hitler’s history, you will be one of the few people in the world who has.
If you look at the rise of the middle class after 1945, you will find leaders who feared fascism and developed a strategy to ensure another Hitler would not rise from the ashes of world war. If you look at the second rise of the middle class, you will find that it too will be built on the ashes of fascism.
What happened was- he *wanted* to be Person of the Year, so he tweeted preemptively, thinking that TIME should fall in line and show their loyalty to America.
(Not *America* America.)
(He thinks he is America.)
Hence they should do it because he said it.
He wants so bigly to just tweet out orders and be obeyed.
