  1. DID CENK just diss Mustafa Kemal Ataturk? An internationally recognized einstein-level tactical genius and hero according to the huge majority of the world?

He was so smart the US begged the Turks to give them Ataturk’s brain after his death so it could be studied. They wanted to know the brain features that lead to such military brilliance because one day they will be able to recreate these features in newborns.

Ataturk’s death was a missed opportunity to discover the brain features which lead to him never losing a single battle (he won every single battle and had abilities to predict all of his opponents moves ahead of time with accuracy) and defended Istanbul despite having (by all accounts) a 0% chance of victory.

  2. I dont understand at other media outlets they r sharing the TYT internal issues?! y is it Legally gray to talk about them?!

  3. I trust Cenk/Steve/Dave to do the proper thing regarding Jordan. Six years ago I had to toss Cenk overboard when he praised the murder of Bin Laden. I eventually forgave him and came back to the fold. These are critical times. We need critical voices. I view TYT as Democracy Now on steroids. We need truth spoken to power, now more than ever. #TYTArmy

ps – I must have gotten one of the last hats.

    1. Yeah I agree – I trust Cenk to do the right thing when it comes to Jordan. Don’t kick him to the curb if what Jordan recounts is accurate. Please do a proper investigation, we’ve stood with Jordan a long time and he deserves a fair shake.

  4. I remember hearing Sasha Baron Cohan talk about interviewing Charlie Rose as Ali G and how, off camera, he wanted to show him pictures of women and talk about kinky stuff he’d done.

  5. I trust TYT. I trust Cenk, Steve, Dave and all those in TYT management to make the right decisions regardless of WHO from the TYT Network is accused of or proven to be involved in anything inappropriate or illegal.

People who support Trump and his minions regardless of what they do / have done / say are all over television and the internet, right? Well there is also a good number of black men AND women who claim that Cosby or any other black person accused of / found guilty of being a perpetrator of predatory behavior is a guiltless, railroaded victim of racism. These black people act just as white supremacists do, they in their own twisted way have done their part in enabling this Trump presidency. And I have witnessed some of my own family members defending each other’s indefensible acts of bullying and assault, saying it’s a natural part of being family. ALL those who defend bullies and predators, ALL must be outed and punished. The time has finally come. ALL. No picking and choosing.

This is a huge, though tough, opportunity for decent people to release some childhood fictions and fantasies, show they are not blind racists, not colonial era thinkers. It’s not just a bunch of Southern Strategists, Republicans or old Baby Boomers, it never was just them. Time for some worlds to collide, followed by eyes and minds opening. Time to investigate and, if proven, get those social media follows, DVDs, those photos, those nostalgic bits and pieces TRASHED. Trash these Pictures of Dorian Greys from the very soul and replace them with better people worthy of respect and being called heroes.

More importantly, it’s time to trust TYT Network to do the right thing. Anything that rocks TYT Network can only make it stronger. Members like me will see to that.

    1. Amen. Just what I’ve been wanting to say, but I’m too pissed at the trolls/ mra’s all over the forum to do it as calmly. People that invade our ranks and pay just to troll and hate make me furious. Thank you for keeping a level head for the rest of us ?

  6. In regards to the Charlie Rose story, I work in IT and occurrences like what is described in that story are why I was always extremely reluctant to ever fix someone’s “work from home” computer in their house. It does not just happen in journalism or entertainment, however I do think that it’s more blatant and the abusers feel more empowered in those environments because it is such a relatively small industry. As an IT professional, generally the thought is that I could walk out the door and get any number of other jobs without relocating or anything, whereas in, for example, Hollywood, what are you going to do if you are blacklisted for being “difficult” (i.e. try to call someone out on their inappropriate and predatory behavior)? Go make movies in Iowa? So, just some different dynamics at play.

  7. To all the TYT members, I would like to say my condolences for the position that you were in that none of you asked for.

I also want to commend you for your professionalism as at this point from what I have read nothing has been verified or proven one way or the other as to these allegations.

There has been his side, there has been her side, then there was the woman involved side yet nothing from his cameramam’s side.

The Details from everyone side is very murky at best, very disheartening at worst.

To be placed in a position where you for legal reasons cannot comment is frustrating not for me for you.

However this comes out I am sure that you will do your very best to again be professional, give out the facts as you know them to be and deal with this internally.

I am a member to hear the news to enjoy the other aspects of TYT.

I am not here for gossip, innuendo or having my ego stroked. I reserve my opinion until all the facts are presented.

I have never found anyone at TYT to be disingenuous, nefarious or in anyway manipulative to your members.

Again my condolences for the position you have been placed in.

I am sure you have in place HR that you’re members can go to and will make available to all the TYT family a place safe to vent their emotions and sort through how they go forward from here.

You have not lost this member and I’m sure many many more feel the same way.

Much love from the old Lady in Alaska.

  8. I find the allegations against Jordan weird. I don’t know ofc if they are true or not and that’s not what I’m talking about. In the original article 2 actual allegations were made:
    The Griffin story
I have no idea what to make of this. Is that even a sexual assault allegation or an assault allegation and is this even an allegation against Jordan? Was he awake at that point? She just talks of Jenn Dize and “men in the room”?
    The Hammond story
If that is true it’s true, it’s rape no question, but is she also making accusations against Chelsea Lyons?
It seems that there is, so far, just one allegation actually against Jordan, enough ofc, but not the same pattern.

What I find weird is that, 100% based on the account of both alleged victims, both stories begin with Jordan being unconseous, Jordan, not the alleged victims. And why we have talked about rare instances of male victims before, I think not a single story (of assault at least) over the last month was making allegations against female perpetrators, yet in this story they are 2 separate situations, 2 different women, making allegations of assault/sexual assault against 2 different women. Not only that, but in both cases it had been those women allegedly starting the incident (clear assault, in Chelsea’s case sexual assault), while in both stories Jordan is still unconseous while they were starting these assaults?!

    We live in strange times…

      1. I don’t know if this really is an answer to my post or not, but if it is, I don’t understand. I haven’t said anything about Jordan’s behavior or what he should or shouldn’t have done or if the firing was OK or anything. But there is no if, the victims accounts make the accusations against the other women – there are only 1.9% female perpetrators, I just find it interesting that according to all accounts, we have 2 female perpetrators in 1 story. Congratulations TYT, one of your scandals made it into the 1.9%…

Jordan should have been fired by all accounts – there I said it

  9. Anyone wearing the Mankini should be fined, IMO. It’s SO offensive. It’s even more offensive than I am! Especially in the climate of sexual harassment in this country right now. It’s almost always ugly old men, too. We don’t want to see your junk guys! OK? Was that clear enough? UGH!

  10. Are we ever going to talk about immigration. What is about to happend to 50k haitians and maybe later a lot more people from el salvador? You need to talk about this so that people understand that elections have consequences to real people.

  11. Lol… We are in a Race war & Cenk says icollege admissions shouldn’t be based on Color.. Ok. Blacks are always discriminated sub-consciously.
It sucks to discuss it consciously

  12. I question this pitting of Asians (or whoever) against under-represented minorities (or the pitting of minorities against each other at all and this AA issue being spotlighted by many seems to do this on college campuses). While many Asians come from immigrant families, they have had much more upward mobility in the country and are already FAR over-represented (URMs are generally on par or below their share of the US population at these schools so when people gripe over the discrimination and claim that URMs took the spot….they are basically saying: “Well those folks should be even less represented and we should be even more over-represented”) at the elite schools (and yes, they would be even more over-represented without AA policies or “holistic admissions”), however the problem is that some believe that “merit” is limited to SAT scores and are wondering why a person with perfect SAT scores was not admitted. When a person has a near perfect record statistically and is not admitted to one of these super elite schools, it usually says that they were simply not liked (maybe essays or other components did not impress or were not unique enough for the admission committees to care by time that application was read) well enough. And then there is this obsession over these super elites. Most who were denied got into other elite universities, yet Harvard was held up as the one to be singled out. I truly do question this culture. And again, let us not pretend that many non-URM minorities at these schools are not extremely wealthy. When you look at all this arguing over AA, it almost looks like you have a bunch of often well off families from different backgrounds arguing who among them (the already wealthy) should get more access. Furthermore, it is viewed as some sort of travesty when a child fails to access institutions with less than 10% admit rates. Once the admit rates are that low and the applicant pools are that great, there is a large degree of luck and complaints about AA only demonstrate an entitlement mentality.

Many who deserve to be admitted simply will not. Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and many other elite schools have damned near a 1500/1600 SAT average (and that was before the new SAT), so if they admitted more of one ethnicity to boost those already extremely high scores, they will get little return for it because beyond that threshold, the difference in ability levels of the current student body and the new one is so hair-splitting that it is nearly non-existent. At that point, since Harvard knows it will select at those extreme statistical levels and can also enroll at the same levels, it may as well look at other forms of “merit” or characteristics that will add something to the environment there. I don’t see the problem of them having a student body with this level of credentials, but just not as homogeneous as it would be if Harvard just said: “We only want the 1600s and 5.0 GPAs” as if that is so much different from a 1500 and 4.7s they have now. Assuming these schools provide the type of education they claim, that sort of difference should be unimportant. Ideally Harvard, Princeton, and Yale professors would not be giving exams that give those who scored 1600 versus a 1500 or even a 1400 an advantage. They shouldn’t mostly be giving multiple choice and algorithm based examinations at that level of a school. Anyone who scored relatively well should be able to do well in courses at these places and in fact subject specific preparation levels may be more indicative. Like if a person had a passion for science, had several strong AP scores in STEM, did research, participated in science fairs, research, etc….then I really don’t care if they got a 1600 on a general test like the SAT because the student has high levels of passion and aptitude in the area they will probably major in (seriously, I am never surprised to see such a student end up tutoring students who may have come in with higher scores, but had no focus or passion in specific areas. Instead they pretty much had a laundry list of “well-rounded” extra-curriculars on their college application that almost went an inch deep and a mile wide. They pretty much jumped through the hoods for the colleges, and many universities, especially the elites probably pick up on this and deny many of these students despite strong statistical credentials). I just think we need to be careful about how we are defining “merit” (we are forcing a view of merit onto those who have a lot of experience doing admissions and are trying to do more than create a class of statistically perfect Patties and Patricks) and how one views their admissions from the outside. Other than the wealth (I suspect this is largely being reinforced today by two things: a) Wealthier students tend to have higher statistical credentials which as I just mentioned, weigh extremely heavily at many of these schools who want to keep a high rank, HYP level elite or not. b) They are full pay students being used to subsidize the lower income students on some mixture of Pell Grants and the….about decade financial aid programs implemented at most of these elite schools to discount those in the bottom quartile or so of the income brackets at those schools) and legacy issue, I feel there is a lot we don’t know.

  13. TYT lost me. Gone. Been loyal through thick & thin but now aggressively on the side of accusations & allegations are enough culture? Fuck your individual pogrom & authoritarian pogrom support for accusers. Same as leads to beating, nooses, & Holocaust. Never another dollar [except membership so I can follow you to oppose you & agree & give credit where it’s due], you made a political enemy of me. Might have fractured the movement too.

    https://medium.com/@jordanchariton/sloppy-journalism-corporate-panic-back-to-what-really-matters-3f4de682afd8 .

    1. “TYT lost me. Gone.”
“Never another dollar [except membership so I can follow you to oppose you & agree & give credit where it’s due],”

You seem strong in your convictions.

    2. You’re comparing the firing of an unprofessional employee for sexual misconduct to pogroms and the Holocaust? What the hell is wrong with you?

    3. I’m not sure anyone in the progressive movement wanted you in the first place considering you’re clearly cuckoo for cocoa puffs. Enjoy your hate-watching regiment from the basement of your parents house.

  14. Thanks for mentioning the Jordan thing, its horrible all round. I get that you can’t comment for legal reasons but
acknowledging that you will when you can is appreciated. It just sux cause everyone else can go you / invent stuff against everybody. And TYT has been fighting back against the darkness for a long time.

I believe in TYT they have stood strong for along time now. I know that things can go bad as companies get bigger, but innocence until evidence otherwise. There is no 9 women all with the similar claims.

    I believe in TYT #staystrong

  15. On the Jordan situation:

While Jordan was an outstanding reporter in terms of the stories he covered and the dedication he put forth in covering those stories, his conduct in the situation at hand was more than enough grounds for termination even if we suppose Jordan’s version of events is what really happened. He admitted to the fact that he and his team were involved in late-night drinking and rabble rousing while on assignment, and he also admitted to making sexual advances toward an inebriated work colleague who was in his employ (Jordan founded TATM and hired the young woman in question). Even if it was consensual, it’s the epitome of impropriety to engage in a sexual relationship with a work colleague while on assignment particularly if that person is your work subordinate. What professional journalist thinks that having group sex with your co-workers is acceptable behavior in a professional work environment? The fact that all of this occurred after hours is absolutely immaterial.

Such behavior is grossly unethical in a work setting (especially given that he was in a leadership position), and would rightly merit a firing in virtually any context. In addition to this, he went public in the midst of TYT’s investigation in an attempt to control the narrative around the story -not a smart move even if it is understandable for someone in his position to want to clear the air. Again, even if Jordan’s version of events is true, it’s still incredibly unprofessional behavior and quite adequate grounds for termination. He made some very unfortunate decisions and they brought about an unpleasant end to his career at TYT.

    1. The point about it being inappropriate while on assignment, even if it was after hours, is one of the biggest things that people miss when asking why they went ahead and fired him before any investigation was over. If I’m not wrong, he was there on assignment as a TYT Politics representative [I’m guessing as the camerman was there as well]. Companies- progressive or not- tend not to look favorably on employees having rambunctious nights/group sex while traveling. Whether you like it or not when you travel for work- you now represent that company, even after hours.

Your comment is really well put– Thanks for putting the whole ‘argument’/debate in words so well!

    2. This is exactly what I want to say but I usually can’t finish a sentence without swearing, its a byproduct of being fucking Scottish.

He screwed up royally with how he handled it and even if the allegations were proven untrue I would sack him for piss poor conduct. It reflects badly on the company to be dragged through the media and have an incident like this played out on social media. It could still have been reported, investigated and then concluded but he is evidently such a smart cunt that he thought he knew better and TYT were not backing him after 24 hours so just went apeshit.

He lost me and now his behaviour will cast a shadow on his reporting and any impropriety that was levelled at him during those reports could now stick because of this incident.

In summary the man is a pure wee fanny.

Also please copy and past your comment into his fb page posts and enjoy the rabid reactions.

    3. @Eugene Debs: Thanks for putting this into perspective, and I am glad to hear your thoughts. I will wait until TYT comes out and discusses the matter in the future, as they said they would do today.

    4. I Completely agree! There were also clams Jordan had been abusing the company credit too. Cenk said at the top of the show that there was more behind the termination, that had not been leaked onto the internet. I think it was a good judgement call

    5. Well said. I’m shocked so many people fail to grasp this basic concept. We all have to follow an employee code of conduct at work, and we manage to deal with it.

  16. Geezum lord mercy the first couple mins of the Charlie Rose story seemed like they were talking about Jordan word for word.

    1. Side project to avoid HR involvement and have more control over his employees…..Pretty much an exact description of Truth against the Machine

  17. Thanks for the update as brief as it was TYT family, we all wish there was more on the matter but I can wait till an investigation is borne out. It looks bad and from a liability perspective, companies make the issue an island on reflex and it’s terrible for Jordan.

I really hope it’s not true but that opens up another line of thinking I’m not comfortable with; that there are groups trying to undermine a movement to settle confused interpersonal dilemmas (and for the record, I feel you) and I want to believe the woman. Her account vs Jordan’s doesn’t help her case but I’ll wait for TYT to be transparent and objective now that Jordan is seemingly on his own. This news and John Lasseter today as well as Conyers, heroes to me being outed for harassment and misogyny is really doing a doozy on the good ole pantheon as of late. Sorry for the ramble. Hang in there TYT.

  18. Please, please, please tell me that it is not true that you are saying here that the Jordan issue is still being investigated, but you really have already fired him. As a victim of radical feminism, I cannot, with any justice, give money to a radical feminist organization. Is TYT the army that would un-fuck the USA, but lets the barbarians win through the oldest dirty trick in the book?
