It’s unbelievable what complete horseshit David Axelrod thought he could sell us.
Confronted by Ana with the revelation of Obama appointing nearly all the suggested people to their suggested positions in a list handed to Obama by Citibank’s CEO prior to the election, Axelrod bizarrely suggests that somehow this is all excused by the financial crisis itself and necessary for Obama to be able to solve it.
First of all, why would Obama need to slavishly follow the demands of one CEO in order to be able to tackle that crisis? Doesn’t that mean doing the bidding of someone who is co-responsible for that crisis?
Secondly, most of the people on that list, and the positions they were appointed to, had nothing to do with the banking crisis. We’re talking a broad range of positions, from chief of staff, to attorney general, to education, to veterans affairs, etc., etc. Look at the list and you realize that most of these positions had nothing to do with the banking crisis. So what’s the point of taking those suggestions and implementing them, unless you’re doing it to unashamedly kiss that CEO’s ass and grovel before him?
Great job guys!
