I wonder if some leader in Weimar Republic gave such a speech after the Reichstag fire. While the one incident of some progressive or liberal protester getting violent is not as significant as Reichstag burning, Obama speech assigning blame to everyone is telling and exactly what the other party needs. Now, the Trumpies have carte blanche – with the Fox network behind them, they will cause such havoc in the country and will blame the progressives for their need for control and power.
This is what Bush and Cheney did after 9/11 – remember either you are with us or against us – and violated our constitutional rights and committed war crimes with impunity and this is what Trump will do after the convention – regardless of whether he gets the nomination or not – he will take it.
