The President of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards, spoke to the House Oversight and Reform Committee, and during the hearing she defended Planned Parenthood making clear that the recent videos released were fraudulent and not indicative of the organization’s actions. Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz challenged Richards with a graph that showed abortions exceeding cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood. The information on the slide seemed, at the very least, misleading. Ana Kasparian (The Point) and Ben Mankiewicz (What The Flick?!) hosts of The Young Turks discuss.
Do you think Richards did a good job defending Planned Parenthood? Will Chaffetz’s slide convince people that Planned Parenthood is an abortion factory? Let us know in the comments below.

“Tuesday’s showdown between House Republicans and Planned Parenthood was a battle some conservatives hoped to be having on a much larger scale this week.
But they got a battle nonetheless.
Cecile Richards, the president of the embattled nonprofit women’s health-care organization, testified before a House government oversight committee about how her organization uses more than $500 million in annual federal funding.”

All this is a distraction so we don’t realize that they haven’t a clue about how to actually govern.Every week we see fake issues like planned parenthood,Benghazi,Hillary’s E-mails,and anything else they dream up so they can avoid doing any real work.
The John Birch Society is back
In the late 50’s and early 60’s Fred Koch, the father of the Koch brothers along with Welch and others formed the John Birch Society. They accused everyone who didn’t believe what they believed, communists. The Birchers were against taxes, government regulation, against big government, do away with the Federal Reserve, saw welfare as socialism, want to return to the gold standard, against the United Nations and any world trade agreements, against the minimum wage, against abortion and against equal rights. The Birchers became a pariah and were eventually discredited by fellow conservatives like William Buckley Jr.
Today we have a recrudescence of the John Birch Society with the new pseudonym, the Tea Party. The Koch brothers wanted to resurrect their father’s creation by heavily funding anyone running on the Tea Party platform. Any Republican who didn’t believe in the John Birch Society beliefs were threatened with a challenge in the primaries. The threatening tactics of the John Birch Society is back in full force.
The past 6 years of the Obama administration was obstructed by a minority of tea party activists who had a strangle hold on the party leaders of both houses. Boehner eventually quit but said in leaving that the 40 tea party members were trying to do things that can’t be done but they went ahead anyway. Bill O’reilly and Rush Limbaugh beat the drums for this disgraced society to reemerge by painting an ugly picture of a democratic liberal that in reality doesn’t exist in numbers to amount to anything. The tea party members could care less about shutting the government down because they don’t believe in government. Ted Cruz and Michelle Bachman are two of the sorriest examples of tea party (John Birch Society) members.
If we want our government to be functional again it has to start by realizing this radical extreme right group is actually the John Birch Society supported by the Koch brothers and all members of congress need to stand up and denounce their activities. Some in congress have already started but more need to come forward and speak vociferously. The tea party today is a cancer bringing our country down, they are against compromising on any issue the way they operated in the 60’s. The label tea party needs to go, everyone should refer to them as Birchers or you will be playing their game. Dave Clark 9/30/15
Like her mom before her, Cecile is my hero. Go tell them.
