Pope Francis Makes Republicans Cry

In The Young Turks on YouTube by Hlarson1 Comment

The Pope is in Washington to give a speech to congress. One congressman decided to boycott the speech in protest of what he might say. Some politicians loved him. Some hated him. John Boehner cried. Cenk Uygur, host of the The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

“Many conservatives have criticized the pope’s call to address climate change, and one congressman went so far as to boycott his speech over the issue. But Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) said he believed the pope’s remarks on the climate struck a good balance…

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) was skeptical that the pope’s words would do much to mend Congress’ deep divisions.”*

  1. To address you question or sermon so to speak in your video of, “Mecca Stampede Kills Over 700.” The answer you seek can be learned in a Philosophy course in College. Your discussing an important riddle presented in Philosophy called, “The Problem of Evil.” I will leave it to you Cenk Uygur to do your own independent research on the matter. If you would like a short description please continue reading below. I lengthened it up to discuss more broadly.

    -The Problem of Evil-

First we must define God as a higher being and the 3 main characteristics of that being.

    1. God is Omniscient- having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding; perceiving all things.

2 God is Omnipotent- Almighty, having unlimited power

    3 God is Morally perfect

Now if I have confused you further, continue reading

God creates the Angels in Heaven, Including Lucifer. God being omnipotent new everything that was going to happen before he did it makes him(God) responsible for every bad thing that SATAN has done or ever will do. This seems a discouraging thought for most. Soon many loose faith in God. When we get confused or upset in that process of understanding, our True Faith is Tested. Try not to lose all hope. We are not meant for this world forever. A reward for our faith is waiting. You have to play by the rules, so to speak.

God commands us more than 9 times in The BIBLE or love our neighbor as ourselves. This is an encouraging thought. The Golden rules tell us, to “Do unto others as we would have them do unto us.” Sorry for the King James wording there.

I am not a Kim Davis supporter and that has had me at odds with 2 Pastors I know. They don’t like my interpretation of I Thessalonians 4 : 1-8 NKJV. How it describes exactly what we are commanded to do, and not do.

It may be the opinion of the Scientific Community that the theory of the BIG BANG is their version of a Bible. That this theory allows us to explain everything and account for the smallest variables. In Science you learn that Energy is Neither Created or Destroyed it only changes forms. eg. A fire and water being applied, to put it out. The excess heat from the fire turns some of the water into steam. In that sense the water didn’t win the battle the fire did because of the steam.

Back to the Big Bang. So where did the extreme heat come from that accounts for the energy released at the beginning of the BIG BANG? I would rather include God into the equation. That Science and God are not bitter opposites. We can agree to disagree on what our personal beliefs are, but quite frankly you disappointed me in your video clip. I am more in favor of an “Interpath Dialogue” to include cooperation for mankind to improve that doesn’t exclude , Atheists, Agnostics, or Humanists. That there is an individual moral compass to follow for all of us, on what we all can accomplish together as PEOPLE.

Thanks if you read this far,
    Justin
