“John Iadaola (https://twitter.com/jiadarola), Ben Mankiewicz (https://twitter.com/benmank77) and Steve Oh (https://twitter.com/stevenoh88) filling in for Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) discuss a pew study that says Islam will overtake Christianity in numbers of members globally by 2070.
A pew study revealed that following current trends the numbers of followers of Islam will match Christianity by 2050 and that within twenty years of that, would then be the largest religion on the planet. Dwindling numbers of Christians in Europe and the United States and the rise of Agnostic/Atheist numbers in the heavily secular society seems to be to blame the most for the trend. Although rising numbers of Muslims could also be tired to Muslims living in the fastest growing populations in the world, especially Africa and the South Pacific, but also including parts of central and South America as well. Christianity is predicted to see its largest rise among people in China and South Korea, although full data on China is not currently available, and the study admitted it was unsure how the Chinese would affect these numbers.”
