Chinese women are coming to the U.S. in increasing numbers prior to giving birth in order to ensure that their child is born American. Specifically, in 2008 there were 4200 Chinese women who gave birth in the US while in 2012, about 10,000 Chinese women gave birth in the U.S., according to Chinese State media. We take a look at some of the motivations behind this trend, in this Lip News clip with Jackie Koppell.
