“On Tuesday, the radical Islamic group the Islamic State announced that 26-year-old hostage Kayla Mueller was dead, reportedly in a Jordanian bombing raid.

As Talking Points Memo reported, while much of the world reacted with horror and grief at the death, many conservatives took to social media to celebrate the killing and call the young aid worker a terrorist sympathizer and “anti-Israel bitch” because of her work on behalf of the occupied people of Palestine.

In a piece titled “Kayla Mueller: Dead ISIS Hostage Was Jew-Hating, Anti-Israel Bitch,” conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel wrote, “No tears for the newly-departed Kayla Mueller, the ISIS hostage whose parents confirmed today that she is dead.””* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

    I love watching your broadcasts/news reports. One thing though; I would like to apply for a job in writing your sub-titles for your broadcasts. I see SO many mistakes! For example, there is almost no punctuation at all. No sentence endings and no sentence beginnings. There are mistaken words, for instance in your broadcast “Conservatives Cheer ISIS Killing of American Kayla Mueller,” when you say “when you son is INVOLVED…” your person in charge of the sub-titles wrote, “when your son is EVOLVED…” Then you say “she took her beliefs and put them into action…” Your person wrote, “she took her believes…” You said “it’s not like ISIS and the Palestinians have any joint cause…” and the sub-titles, rather than write the word “cause” wrote the word “case.”

    Sorry to be so grammatically correct, but it’s what I do.

    I am so good at this in fact that while in college (I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) almost all of my professors gave me their labs to proofread and edit before they went on to make multiple copies of handouts and publications for class materials.

    Thank you for listening. I feel it is important to point these out to you because it seriously affects the credibility of your broadcasts.
