The Young Turks recently interviewed Pastor James David Manning, and some are upset that the discussion took place at all. In this video I address the criticism and share my thoughts on the interview with one of the most controversial religious figures in America.

Don’t do these kind of video’s Ana. It only feeds the machine. You come off as desperate for validation by saying “I don’t need validation from you guys”. Just keep on doing what you do and ignore everyone else. Your a great host, smart, so just keep being that. That being said, loved that pastor manning interview, great job you and cenk, please keep doing more like this.

So there’s a lunatic pastor preaching nonsense and hatred, and all the comments concern Ana?
There are arguments for an against interviewing the pastor. 1 says it is giving his views a platform, while the other says its holding him up so he can be pointed at and ridiculed, and at the same time belittling his idiotic claims.
Personally, I’d wait until he had a significant following before holding him up to ridicule. Until then, you’d like to think his nonsense would blow out before giving it such a massive stage on TYT.
they could have told him about the obvious issues which make him act that way, and gotten a lot more across instead of ridicule. if it’s a little ridicule it’s ok, but they were really going after the core items which make him hate himself. you can do that without making him hate himself even more – and even if you don’t care about him or have empathy on him, think about how much more negative impact he will have on society if he were to hate himself even more.
just point these things out without being so nasty, better option for ana and cenk. and the fact that ana thinks that was her doing penetrating journalism is hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing when she said that.

Oh my god ana, you’re f-ing disgusting. Especially the way that ana doubles down on this is especially despicable. I initially thought cenk was the over-eager wannabe journalist until I saw ana’s doubling down. it’s very typical of ana to fervently throw dust in her audiences face when they don’t agree with her or disagree with her, she has no concept of trying to understand their position and hence goes to take a very combative stance against anyone who has made her feel unhinged or insecure (which she feels very easily and quite often).
But now to my point… it’s quite obvious that pastor manning hates himself for being gay (a repressed homosexual), hates himself for being black (hence his attacks against other blacks) an hates himself for not having had the opportunities, income or talent to get a university education. But despite this, we see ana throwing her university degree around with the epitome or white privilege while cenk makes fun of manning’s lack of university education.
the fact that they were not able to see, understand and feel empathy for this person during their crusade is what is particularly worrying. If they had recognized the issues he was dealing with, they wouldn’t have felt the need to assert the vindictive positions that they – indeed they were mainly carried out because of ana’s and cenk’s misunderstanding of the issues (especially ana’s).
… and given that ana will never correct herself on one of her mistakes (unless she can claim credit for it – more on that later), we will never get an admission of her wrongdoing during this interview.
And, let me tell you about when ana tried to claim credit for one of her own mistakes… here is the transcript between her and steve oh.
Ana: “I could never have respect for a culture [Korean’s] that eats their own pets”
steve oh (who is Korean): “well, what if in korea, dogs are to Korean’s what pigs are to us”
Ana: “oh, now I get it, I totally understand it now, sorry for being unfairly judgemental”
Then, of course, a few days later, ana brags about this on air. god she is disgusting. remember, it’s the insecure and stupid that you should be most aware of.
I completely agree with you on that. Why is she even making this video, if all of her reaction is “I’m great and if you dont get it, you have been brainwashed by mainstream media!”. This interview was not an interview it was a prank, where 2 7years olds giggle about a crazy and dangerous man admitting he was tempeted for gay sex. I mean he was in prison, tyt never gets tired of pointing out the number of rape case in prison, but are unable to add 2 and 2.
I really like Ana in the beginning, but right now she is just terrible.
I mean how good of a journalist are you, if you cannot conduct an interview in a mature way, even if you are involved because of some education or boob comments. Come on, really? You are woman on the internet and you cannot get over some boob comments? You lack empathy for the guest you brought on the show.
Sry but just do soemthing else, something where you dont have to deal with an audience or other people. Maybe start a blog or write a book about your drug experiences.
