The Boston Marathon bombing jury in the trial of alleged bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev may exclude Catholics due to a potential clash between jury selection criteria and Catholic teachings. Specifically, jurors are required to be able to sentence the accused to death, which could go against the Catholic Church’s teachings regarding the death penalty. We take a look at this challenge in the jury selection process and talk about how it could effect the trial, in this Lip News clip with Jackie Koppell.
