Krist Novoselic is famous for for music– he cofounded and played bass for the now-legendary band, Nirvana with his friend Kurt Cobain, and has also played instrumentals for the Foo Fighters. But he’s also been extremely active as a political activist and reformer. Since 2008 he has been board chair of the electoral reform organization FairVote and he is the creator of JAMPAC (Joint Artists and Musicians Political Action Committee).

What was it like growing up partly in Croatia (Yugoslavia at the time) and moving back to Aberdeen? And what was it like absorbing the music that helped him create music with Cobain and Nirvana? What was it like when Nevermind exploded and became a cultural phenomenon?

Novoselic talks about his huge musical career, why electoral reform and fair tallying and representation are so incredibly necessary, and much more on music and politics with The Young Turks host, Cenk Uygur.
